Course Overview:

This class will give you a working knowledge of databases, what they are and how to use them. You will learn to view data in a database. You will create a database; add tables manually and from templates. You will learn to define forms for inputs of data. You will learn to import data into your database and export data out of it. You will need a basic understanding of Windows to complete this class. You will need a copy of Office. A 60-day trial version is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will explore the Microsoft Access environment.
  • Students will create a database in Access.
  • Students will add records to a database by importing from various sources.
  • Students will export data from their Access databases to other formats.
  • Students will create forms for working with their Access data.
  • Students will create a final project using what they learned in the class.

All necessary materials are included.
