Course Overview:

This course is for students who want to get started using Linux. Students will install Red Hat Linux Fedora Core on their computers. Once the installation is complete students will learn the basics of the command prompt and the graphical user environment. Students will be introduced to some basic system administration.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • You will prepare for and perform an installation of a Linux workstation.
  • You will explore the X environment and the available applications.
  • You will use the command prompt to perform basic Linux file maintenance commands.
  • You will perform basic system administration commands.
