Course Overview:

LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) provides a set of tools that web developers can use to design, develop, test and deliver web-based applications. This course will walk the new user through the process of installing and configuring the Linux operating system, the Apache web server, the MySQL database application and the PHP server scripting language. The course also covers how to maintain and trouble-shoot the system. Students will also get a quick introduction to using PHP to create data-driven web applications.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

This course requires a server to install XAMPP on in order for the student to follow along with the course lessons. The cost of the software and server are not included in the purchase of the course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will install Linux on their computer.
  • Students will use the shell to navigate within Linux
  • Students perform system administrative tasks on their Linux system.
  • Students will configure network applications on their Linux system.
  • Students will configure security applications on their Linux system.
  • Students will install and configure a mail server.
  • Students will install and configure the Apache Web Server on their Linux System.
  • Students will install and configure MySQL on their Linux system.
  • Students will install and configure PHP on their Linux system.
  • Students will test the configuration of their LAMP system.

All necessary materials are included.
