Course Overview:
Structured Query Language (SQL) is the language use to work with databases and the information stored within them. In this course students will learn to query a database to SELECT the data with which they want to work. Students will use SQL to create, edit and delete data tables. Students will learn to create views, functions, and stored procedures. Students will need access to a database that uses SQL commands. There is a trial version of SQL Server available.
ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date. When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.
Course Outline:
- install the SQL Server demo and explore the basics of relational databases.
- write SQL SELECT statements to retrieve data from a single data table.
- write SQL SELECT statements with JOINS to retrieve data from multiple tables.
- write queries to summarize data using aggregate functions.
- write queries that contain sub queries.
- write SQL queries to insert, update and delete data from data tabes.
- write queries to convert and edit data in the database.
- design a database
- will write SQL statements to create a database.
- create a final project showing what they have learned in this course.
All necessary materials are included.

- Cable, Fiber, DSL, or LEO Satellite (i.e. Starlink) internet with speeds of at least 10mb/sec download and 5mb/sec upload are recommended for the best experience.

Therefore, it is not recommended that students use a cellular hotspot as their primary way of accessing their courses.
