Course Overview:

Learn to create professional-looking research papers and proposals. Students will add headers and footers, set page layout, create title pages, tables of contents and indices. Student will create outlines and use the outlines for organizing and managing long documents. Student will create references for automatically generating tables of illustrations. Student will create a master document for combining multiple files into one. Students will need a copy of Word. A 30-day trial is available.

Course Outline:

  • Students will choose a page layout, add page numbering and headers and footers to their Word documents.
  • Students will create templates and styles for their long documents. Students will define their document as an outline in outline view.
  • Students will create a table of contents and an index in their long documents. Students will create footnotes and book marks.
  • Students will combine several documents into a master document.
