Course Overview:

Microsoft Publisher allows you to design documents from calendars to business cards, newsletters to brochures. In this course we will learn to create documents using templates and learn to add and format text and images. You will learn design techniques as well as how to use publisher. You will need a copy of Microsoft Publisher. A 60-day trial is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will identify the parts of the Publisher screen and create a basic document.
  • Students will learn to set-up a new publication.
  • Students will learn how to lay out a new document.
  • Students will create various types of business forms.
  • Students will create text-based publications such as newsletters and learn tools to apply to other longer publications.
  • Students will use Publisher to create create tables in their publications.
  • Students will add professional touches to their publications through visual inspection, and by considering color concepts and tools available to help achieve color variations.
  • Students will learn to create publications for websites and webpages.
  • Student will explore more advanced features of Publisher.
  • Students will use what they have learned in the class to create a final project in Publisher.
