Course Overview:

Students will learn the basics of project management using Microsoft Project. During this course students will build a project plan that includes tasks and resources. Students will learn to manage the project as tasks are completed and to see whether or not the project is on schedule and on cost. Students will use various reporting tools to print and view the project status. Students will need a copy of Project. A 30-day trial version is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will learn to work in the Project environment and create a new project.
  • Students will define tasks and resources for their project.
  • Students will print their projects and track the progress of their tasks.
  • Students will fine-tune their task, resource and assignment details as well as their overall project plan.
  • Students will sort, group and filter the views of their project.
  • Students will apply what they have learned to a final project.
