Course Overview:

Students will advance their Microsoft Excel skills by exploring more advanced topics in Excel. Students will learn to create three-dimensional workbooks, and to link workbooks. Students will create financial forecast spreadsheets using the Excel financial functions. Students will learn to work with the workgroup features of Excel. Students will learn to import data into an Excel spreadsheet and will work with the data using the data management functions of Excel. Students will create Excel macros and will learn the basics of VBA. Students will need a basic understanding of Excel to complete this class. Students will need a copy of Office. A 60-day trial version is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will demonstrate what they have done with Excel
  • Students will link data in other workbooks, define and summarize multiple data sets and group them.  Students will also use tools to summarize and find solutions to problems as well as analyze statistical data.
  • Students will learn to create PivotTables, Charts and Graphs.
  • Students will learn to create macros and to use special printing tools.
  • Students will learn to share information across other programs and to use tools to collaborate with others.
  • Students will use Microsoft Excel to build a final project using what they have learned in this class.

  • Cable, Fiber, DSL, or LEO Satellite (i.e. Starlink) internet with speeds of at least 10mb/sec download and 5mb/sec upload are recommended for the best experience.

NOTE: While cellular hotspots may allow access to our courses, users may experience connectivity issues by trying to access our learning management system.  This is due to the potential high download and upload latency of cellular connections.   Therefore, it is not recommended that students use a cellular hotspot as their primary way of accessing their courses.
