Course Overview:

This class will give you a working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, what they are and how to use them. You will be able to create and format Excel spreadsheets that include charts and multiple worksheets. You will be able to create and execute formulas and use the Excel functions. A copy of Microsoft Office is needed to complete this course. A 30 day trial of Office is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  • Students will learn the purpose of using spreadsheets for business as well as personal use.
  • Students will create and modify workbooks and customize the program window.
  • Students will learn to quickly enter, edit and move data as well as proof it and organize it using tables.
  • Students will learn to use formulas and functions as well as dress up the appearance of their spreadsheets.
  • Students will learn to filter, manipulate, sort, subtotal and look up list data.
  • Students will use Microsoft Excel to create a final project, using what they have learned in class.
