Course Overview:

Students will advance their Microsoft Access skills by exploring more advanced topics in Access. Students will create queries and reports. Students will make Access database applications easier to use by building a switchboard and will make their database more secure by adding password protection.  Forms and reports will be created.  Students will need a basic understanding of Access to complete this class. Students will need a copy of Office. A 60-day trial version is available.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

  •  Students will demonstrate what they know about Access.
  • Students will use filters and queries to find the information they want in their Access databases.
  • Students will set options on their database to keep information accurate.
  • Students will create reports for their Access databases.
  • Students will create a switchboard and custom groups for their Access database.
  • Students will create a final project using what they learned in the class.

  • Cable, Fiber, DSL, or LEO Satellite (i.e. Starlink) internet with speeds of at least 10mb/sec download and 5mb/sec upload are recommended for the best experience.

NOTE: While cellular hotspots may allow access to our courses, users may experience connectivity issues by trying to access our learning management system.  This is due to the potential high download and upload latency of cellular connections.   Therefore, it is not recommended that students use a cellular hotspot as their primary way of accessing their courses.
