Course Overview:

Learn all aspects of inspection and be prepared for whatever type of building your client wants inspected.  Package includes Home Inspection, Code/New Construction Inspection, Commercial Building Inspection, Manufactured Housing Inspection, and Home Energy Survey Professional. This package probably satisfies the education requirements in your state for Home Inspector Licensing.  See below for approved states.

Course Outline:

  • 12-Volume DVD Series: HVAC, Structure, Electrical, Plumbing, Exteriors, Interiors, Basic Roofing, Advanced Roofing, Steam/Hot Water/Oil Fired Heating, Procedures, Wood Destroying Insects, Business Law.  See close to 2000 real life scenes of actual defects from real homes across the nation.
  • 11-Volume DVD series of a 6-day course.  These DVDs contain extensive lectures, demonstrations, class discussions and hands-on exercises.
  • The 500-Page Residential Home Inspection Manual. The manual provides more detailed information on home inspection topics, also more information on growing and marketing your inspection services, liability issues, and inspector standards. 
  • Homework Assignments Covering the DVDs and Manual. Score at least 80% on the homework and receive a Diploma.
  • 2-DVD Virtual Inspection Set. On the first DVD, an experienced inspector shows you the areas of a home he is inspecting. You inspect the home as you see it on the DVD. On the second DVD, the inspector explains his inspection results so you can compare your findings.
  • Study Guide for the NHIE exam. This is the exam used by most states as their state exam.
  • Complimentary Membership in NAHI (National Association of Home Inspectors, established in 1987).
Code/New Construction Inspection
  • 11-Volume DVD Series Code/New Construction Inspection Training. These DVDs address close to 2,000 new construction and code related issues with real life scenes from new construction sites across the nation. Topics include: General Types of Construction, Footings and Foundations, Building Interior, Building Exterior, Electrical Interior, Electrical Exterior, Supply Plumbing, Drainage Plumbing, General HVAC, Air Conditioning, Unit Related HVAC.
  • Manual for The New Construction Training Series(450 pages). This manual contains a bound, removable ICC Exam Reference Book that is code cross-referenced, extensively indexed, and can be used when taking the ICC exams. The manual also gives the reasoning behind wood framing and structural issues--almost 400 illustrations. 
  • 3-Volume DVD Series Classroom, In-the-Field Training.  Take virtually the same tours of homes at various stages of construction as provided to the students in our classroom. Listen to our instructor provide detailed explanations of the defects that were found in a home at the "4-way" or "rough" stage of construction.
  • Homework that accompanies the DVDs and manual. Complete the homework and earn a diploma as documentation that you have completed training.

Commercial Inspection
  • 6 DVDs to better help you understand various commercial buildings:  Retail/Factor/Warehouse (existing), Strip Malls (existing), Office Building (construction stages), Bank/Office Building (detailed stages of construction, (2 DVDs) ,Clinic/Hospital (construction stages)
  • 3 DVDs of "live" classroom and field training on DVD.  With these DVDs, it is as though you are in class and out in-the-field with us.
