Course Overview:

One of the keys to success in any business is good communication skills and one of the most common ways to communicate in business is through writing. Part of good writing skills comes from constructing clear sentences but how we organize our writing and how we lead our reader into our story are important to being understood. In this course we will look at how to write concisely and how to grab and keep your reader's attention.

ATTENTION: This course has a strict start and end date.  When a student enrolls into this course, they will need to work with one of our Training Assessment Managers (TAMs) to choose a start date before they can be enrolled in their course.

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: Understand the Demand for Good Writing

Good writing helps to show leadership skills and starts with good planning. We will look at ways we can benefit from good writing and how to get a writing project off to a good start.

Lesson 2: Be Explicit Clear and Concise

When our writing is explicit, clear and concise our message gets through more clearly and we are able to get our reader's attention.

Lesson 3: Rhythm and Organization

Writing with rhythm and making sure our message is well organized can help to capture and hold our reader's attention.

Lesson 4: Putting it All Together

In this lesson we will create a document using the skills we've learned in this course.
