Course Overview:

The Six Sigma introduction course will give students a flavor of some of the methodologies used in this popular quality tool. The student will receive an overview of the Six Sigma movement itself and some DMAIC, control, and causal methodologies.

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: What is a Sigma and Why Six?

This lesson will give the learner a preliminary background history of Six Sigma, the reasons behind Six Sigma, and an overview of Six Sigma methodologies.

Lesson 2: DMAIC

This lesson focuses on the DMAIC methodology, providing the learner knowledge of the very foundation of Six Sigma.

Lesson 3: You are SO Controlling

Six Sigma practitioners never die they just go out of control. How do we know if your process is valid? Is it "in control" or "out of control?" In this lesson, you will find out why Six Sigma practitioners are control freaks.

Lesson 4: Symptom or Cause

Why? No, why really? To solve a problem, one must first understand its nature. In this lesson, you will learn some tools for zeroing in on the problem.
